Hemavi, the innovative co-living and shared accommodation marketplace has been selected as a finalist in the highly competitive Shift competition, set to take place on March 14th at Norrsken in Sweden. This selection places Hemavi among the top ten out of 258 ambitious companies that entered the competition, showcasing its potential and innovation in the startup landscape.
Shift, known for its mission to make venture capital accessible to brilliant entrepreneurs in suburban and rural areas, saw a record number of entries this year. The final ten were chosen after a rigorous selection process by a jury of esteemed members and investors, who met at Breakit's office in Stockholm. Hemavi stood out for its unique business model and impressive pitch.
“Hemavi is honored to be among the finalists in this year's Shift competition. This recognition validates our commitment to transforming the co-living experience through innovative technology and a deep understanding of human connections,” said Pascal Dettwiler, Co-Founder of Hemavi.
Founded by Hazem Ashour, Pascal Dettwiler, and Matthew Tsang, Hemavi aims to make shared living a delightful experience. The platform uses a proprietary algorithm combined with insights into human relationships to match compatible roommates. This approach allows users to get a glimpse of potential roommates' personalities, interests, values, and lifestyles, ensuring a harmonious living arrangement.
The Shift jury, including Jens Nilsson, Shift partner and founder of the investment company Nyvik, commended the quality of pitches and pitch decks presented during the selection process. Jimmy Jakobsson, Shift partner and founder of the communication agency Ingager, noted that several companies, including Hemavi, were investment-ready and prepared to engage with major venture capital firms.
The final event on March 14th promises to be a landmark occasion for Hemavi, as the team will pitch in front of some of Sweden’s most prominent startup investors. With millions in funding at stake and scholarships to be awarded, the competition presents a significant opportunity for Hemavi to showcase its vision and potentially secure further investment to fuel its growth.
“We are thrilled to reach this stage in the Shift competition and are excited for the opportunity to pitch to a group of Sweden's top startup investors. This event is not just a competition; it’s a platform for us to share our vision for Hemavi and to connect with others who are as passionate about innovation as we are.” added Pascal Dettwiler.
